Manuscript diary of the Morrison's journey around Australia in their kombi van, 'Matilda' from March to September, 1961. They visited all states except Tasmania. Includes a typescript account of the same journey, entitled Matilda's travels. Photographs from these travels are held in the National Library of Australia Pictures Section.
- Biography/History:

Alastair Morrison was born in Peking in 1915. He travelled extensively through Asia where he worked as an intelligence officer and colonial administrator for the British Government. In 1965 he and his German wife Hedda moved to Australia. He worked in Canberra for the Defence Department.
