1. Letterbooks, 1866-1897 concerning the running of the proterty. 2. Photograph albums of Australian scenes, family, Aborigines, etc. 3. Correspondence and other papers, 1862-68 concerning the running of the properties and new settlement at Cape York. 4. Financial statements and estimates, station accounts and correspondence, 1872-96. 5. Correspondence, 1890-98. 6. Description of Valley of Lagoons, Herbert Vale and surrounding country from the inception of the enterprise to 1898. 7. Financial reviews and summary including a survey of causes of the failure of the enterprise. 8. Maps of Charters Towers district, the Townsville-Cardwell district, North Kennedy and Cardwell. Major correspondents in the collection include Walter Scott, Arthur Scott and Robert G.W. Herbert.
- Biography/History:

Walter Scott (1835-1890) and his brother George Arthur (1833-1895) invested in The Valley of Lagoons property, Burdekin district, Qld. Scott arrived in Queensland in 1863 and became managing partner in 1864.
