John Armstrong was a N.S.W. Labour senator who was in parliament from 1938 to 1962. He was appointed Minister for Munitions in 1946 and held the post of Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Senate from 1951-1956. He was the Australian High Commissioner in London from 1972-1974.
