Mullins speaks about being removed with her siblings when she was around the age of 6 and placed at Doomadgee Mission, Qld. She describes conditions at the Mission. In 1947, she married Bill Mullins who had also been brought to Doomadgee as a child. Their own children were also removed, when they were sent away to work on cattle stations. Mullins describes the working and living conditions for Aboriginal people on cattle stations.
