'RV. 378 Her Majesty and His Royal Highness acknowledged the cheers of the waiting crowds from the steps of Federal Parliament House, Canberra, after Her Majesty had opened the third session of the 20th Federal Parliament on February 15, 1954. Her father, the late King George VI, opened the first Federal session held in Canberra, when as Duke of York, he visited Australia in 1927. Her grandfather, the late King George V, opened the first Australian Federal Parliament, in Melbourne, the capital of Victoria, in 1901 when he was the Duke of Cornwall and York. The Prime Minister of Australia, Mr R.G. Menzies and Dame Pattie Menzies are behind Their Royal Highnesses. Australian Official Photograph'--On label attached to reverse.
