Selected correspondence of Albert Gunther, mainly on scientific subjects. The correspondents include M. Allport (Hobart), 1870-71 ; A. Dendy (Melb.),1890 ; M.H. Peracca, 1892-8 ; Sir Walter Buller (N.Z.), 1874-89 ; C. Darwin, 1872 ; Sir Philip Egerton, 1864-74 ; S.F. Harmer, 1909-1911 ; Sir James Hector, 1871-91 ; Gerard Krefft, 1861-78 ; Sir Charles Lyell, 1870 ; Sir William Peel, 1864-5 and others. The letters manily concern the collection and despatch of zoological specimens to the British Museum, zoological discoveries and research in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. Includes letters on South Sea fishes, Australian reptiles and fishes and the affairs of the Australian Museum, Sydney.
