NK2968 is the better copy and has Edmonds & Remnants binder's label inside back cover, inscribed: "To Major G.F. Menzies from his friend G.E. Morrison. Peking, 28.5.05 " and also "F.? Houghton" on half title; NK2969 copy is in green slipcase.
- Library's Robinson 348 copy has Foyles (London) bookseller's label inside the front cover; bears bookplate of W.S.Robinson.
- Library's GMM copy has blue binding with gilt decorations and edges; presentation copy to Joseph Y. Parkin from midsummer 1865 for improved Latin, Broom Bank House, Sheffield; bears ex libris bookplate of Gregory M. Mathews and is signed by the previous owner on the half title page.
