- Authorship of the Eikon basilike was originally attributed to Charles I, but according to Madan (pp. 125-33) it was written by John Gauden who probably included some authentic writings of the king.
- Printer's name from Madan; place of publication from Wing; date of publication in imprint given according to Lady Day dating.
- Signatures: N#22 B-M#21#22 N#24 (-N4). Last leaf blank; not filmed? (cf. Madan).
- This issue has misspelling in 2nd epigraph: "argere" instead of "agere".
- Frontispiece plate bound between contents leaf and text, identified as Madan no. 14.
- British Library copy closely trimmed and with added fronts. bust of Charles I; Harvard University copy has print fade and print show through; folded plate mutilated and bound before title.
