Rev. Butcher was a missionary in Papua for over 34 years as a member of The London Missionary Society. He was very interested in Papuan tribal customs and his published works include "Many faiths - one essential", Brookvale, N.S.W., n.d. and "We lived with headhunters", London, 1963.
