Edith Charlotte Barnard was the sister of British-born explorer Michael Terry (1899-1981). She compiled The last explorer: the autobiography of Michael Terry, FRGS, FRGSA (1987), and was the author of an historical novel, The prince's men: a story of the Jacobite rising of 1715 (1992). Barnard died in Sydney in 2006, aged 97 years.
