- Samuel Buell, minister of the church at East Hampton, Long Island, is identified by Evans as the author of a similarly titled elegiac poem which also ends with the phrase "East-Hampton, ex meo musæo" and which was printed by Timothy Green at New London, Conn. (Evans 11591). Because the Hedges were a prominent family in East Hampton, this poem was presumably written by Buell as well and printed at New London by Timothy Green.
