-
- The previous issue, for 1797, is entitled: Fleets' pocket almanack ... to which is annexed The Massachusetts register.
- Entered by Evans under Thomas and John Fleet, the publishers, whose names appear also as editors of the register in earlier issues. The present Thomas Fleet is the son of the Thomas Fleet who died in March 1797.
- As in the previous issues of the series, the almanac was evidently calculated by Nathanael Low. The eclipse page is identical with that in his An astronomical diary or almanack for 1798, also published by Fleet. The calculations on the calendar pages are also identical except for scattered slight variations, and the weather predictions and astronomical notes on these pages tend to correspond.
