Folkloric recording. 1. Brandenburg, retired farm worker, speaks of his family emigrating to Australia from Holland in 1953 along with two sisters and one brother, how two brothers had already emigrated, settled in Tilba, N.S.W. doing dairying and cutting tussocks, how the family relinguished traditions in order to mix. 2. Song:Little Red Robin knocks on the window (school song) 3. Song: My Daddy's only a photo (Dutch song). 4. Song: Grey box. 5. Song: Horse & sulky. 6. Discusses the song Black Gypsy which his mother used to sing. 7. Recalls life during WWII in Holland, how jobs were scarce during the war, his locality in Holland, how they lived on a houseboat as six children looking after each other, how they grew vegetables, how goats were used for milk, story of mother buying a cow, how his father was held in a concentration camp in Germany, his experience of being bombed, how his father returned home after 3 years. 8.
