- Summary:

Printed pamphlet entitled Letters from New Zealand by an ex-Canterbury resident, dedicated to John Bull, Esq., Junior, published in London. It consists of ten letters and is mainly a philosophical comment on New Zealand way of life but with important notes on particular features such as the importance of the discovery of gold, the need to railways and the Maori agitation. There is very litte personal detail although the last letter on the botanic system of medicine relates to his own experiences.
