"Congwarra at 0430 hrs, 18:01:2003. While burning on the western slopes of the Tidbinbilla Range, the breakaway from Bendora fire lofted firebrands over the ridgeline into Pierces Creek pine forest in the Oakey Creek catchment behind "Congwarra", igniting a number of spot fires which burnt out large areas of plantation overnight before freshening north-westerly winds at 4.00am, drove the fires down towards rural properties along Paddys River Road"--Note from the photographer.
