"Off Wombat Road, Bendora Hill, at 2100 hrs 08:01:2003. At dusk on 8th January, the heel of the Bendora fire was burning at a moderate intensity in tall montane forest of Mountain Gum (Eucalyptus dalrympleana) and Alpine Ash (E. delegatensis) with a shrubby understorey approximately 60 metres up slope from Wombat Road on Bendora Hill. The fire, although not particularly vigorous, was running up the trunks of some trees on candlebark streamers."--Notes from the photographer.
