- Summary:
-
In an appeal to the socialist conscience (if such a thing still exists) the ALP calls for public donations to help finance Carmen Lawrence's legal fees in her appeal to the High Court against the findings of the Marks Royal Commission. Senate intervention had left her with a $243,000 bill, but some are of the view that her decision to hire the most expensive legal talent available was her's alone.--Information provided by Geoff Pryor.
