- See PIC FH/3399 and cover. "Associated with the teachings & miracles of Christ. This Synagogue (ruins) was erected on an earlier one. Probably that in which Christ standing before the tumultuous multitude spoke of the sublime mystery of the Eucharist. This so scandalised the listeners that they dispersed. A little later the ungrateful town was to fall and the reproach & condemnation of Jesus (see over) "And thou Capharnaum, shalt thou be exalted up to heaven? Thou shall go down even unto hell. For if in Sodom had been wrought the miracles that have been wrought in thee, perhaps it had remained unto this day" (matt XI 23)".
