5 letters from Duperrey to Louis de Freycinet. Three were written in 1816 and deal with Duperrey's appointment, the selection of officers and crew, the ship, and other matters. One was written in 1819, possibly at Guam, and discuss orders made by Freycinet and getting in water and wood. The final letter, written in about 1826, accompanied a copy of Duperrey's hydrographical atlas of the voyage of the Coquille.

French naval officer. Second in command and marine hydrographer on voyage of Uranie (1817-20), commanded by Louis de Freycinet. Commanded La Coquille on voyage round the world (1822-25).
