The ASCO Coding System (Unit Group Level) was developed to enable information to be coded to the unit group (4-digit) level of ASCO with a high degree of accuracy and consistency. The Coding System, used in accordance with the procedures set out, will enable users to code information on occupations accurately and produce statistics compatible with those produced by the ABS.
