The Acc09.156 instalment comprises correspondence written in Dickins' professional capacity as geologist with the Bureau of Mineral Resources, Australian Geological Survey, and private consultancy Innovative Geology. Includes papers relating to the Geological Society of Australia, International Geological Correlation Programme and various other conferences and international fora (6 boxes).

Geologist and palaeontologist. James MacGregor Dickins had a long career with the Bureau of Mineral Resources (later the Australian Geological Survey Organisation) and achieved international recognition for his work on Permian global biostratigraphy. Dickins was a founding member of the Geological Society of Australia in 1952, served on the organising committees of several Gondwana symposia and was a member of the Australian Pugwash Committee.
