The photograph was taken late September or early October 1892 as this was the period when the Soldene Company performed in Sydney at the Garrick Theatre (79-81 Castlereagh Street). The image shows the corner of King and Castlereagh Street and advertising banners, one of which is on the balcony of the Theatre Royal (61 Castlereagh St). The Theatre Royal was closed at this time following a fire early in the year.--Information from researcher.
