Folkloric recording. Bill Crosdale has had a lifelong interest in sound recording. Crosdale talks of how he started recording sound with discs and later wire recorders; his life in radio and also as a film projectionist; recording people's life stories, songs and ditties from the 1940's onwards; the fire which destroyed many of the recordings; writing down many of the recorded songs. Crosdale sings, recites poetry and a rhyme.
