Graham Scott talks about his early career with the N.S.W. Justice Department as a Clerk of the Court in different country locations; the relationship with the law and farmers during times of drought and other hardships; after leaving his job as a Clerk of the Court in Condobolin taking up a career with the Lachlander newspaper, one of two in the town; the role of the Lachlander and its importance to the community; the financial aspects of running a small independent newspaper; the content and contributions from locals.

Graham Scott is the Managing Editor of the Condobolin Lachlander newspaper. The paper is an independent in a small country town and only converted from the old hot metal printing to computers in 2004.
