- From Thorpe McConville's, "Who's Who in Wild Australia": "Miss Cleopatra gives a thrilling exhibition of what can be done with snakes and crocodiles. The latter weird creatures are supposed to be untameable. She has been handling snakes since eleven years of agae, and this is not without its risks. "Cleo," as she is known, had been bitten three times with poisonous snakes. On one occasion, when she was performing with a snake weighing 30lbs., the monster made a savage attack on her and repeatedly bit her face. She will carry the marks to her grave." - [1911] program from Festival of Empire, Crystal Pace: Stirring scenes from the Australian bush.
