Bill Wilson, born 1941, Bordertown, S. Aust. Wilson speaks about his family background and his training as a primary school teacher. His first posting was at Hartley Street School in Alice Springs, N.T. in 1957 and 1958. His class consisted of 54 children aged 9 to 15 years old. He describes the living conditions in Alice Springs and the children he taught, including some from St Mary's Hostel. He also discusses the inappropriate curriculum and out-dated teaching methods, race relations in Alice Springs, and the home movie of his class shot by his father in 1958.
