(Campaign Against Moral Persecution); his sexuality; the Sixties: Women's Lib, Vietnam, the pill, Stonewall riots, New York; Christobel Poll; the decision to 'come out', deciding how; letters to newspapers, resulting in interviews (Sept. 1970); the public response; the first public meeting in Balmain and outcome; the search for a clubroom; throwing monthly parties and Sunday BBQ's; the sub-groups within the club; the monthly journal/newsletter, columnists using pseudonyms; leaving the club (1972); the move to Canberra and later Brisbane with partner; the changes to law (1985); Neville Wran; Civil Liberties (ACLU); the role of psychologists and psychiatrists in the treatment of homosexuality, aversion therapy and psychiatric neurosurgery; his partner's background, the circumstances of their meeting; Sydney in the 1950's; AIDS and the death of his partner; the effects of HIV/AIDS on the gay community; the early Gay Liberation movement in Sydney; police contact in the early years of the club; the owners of the gay clubs and bars in Sydney and their response to the club; an anecdote about the publication of David Widdup's love poems.
