This document presents the hearings before the subcommittee on equal opportunities of the Committee on Education and Labor, House of Representatives, Ninety-Third Congress. Hearings concern the Women's Educational Equity Act. It is the purpose of this Act, in order to provide educational equity for women in this country, to encourage the development of new and improved curriculums; to demonstrate the use of such curriculums in model educational programs and to evaluate the effectiveness thereof; to provide support for the initiation and maintenance of programs concerning women at all levels of education; to disseminate instructional materials and other information for use in educational programs throughout the Nation; to provide training programs for parents, teachers, and other educational personnel; to provide for the planning of women's resource centers; to provide improved career, vocational, and physical education programs; to provide for community education programs; to provide programs on the status, roles and opportunities for women in this society; and to provide for the preparation and dissemination of materials for use in mass media.
