Various considerations relative to employment at differing types of universities are examined. University philosophy, monetary considerations, communication channels within the department, faculty relationships, relationships between the university and the local public school system, accreditation status, self-study programs, pofessional writing and publications requirements for professors, and several other factors influencing the future work environment of doctoral students are discussed.
