- Source of Acquisition:
- Contained in an album originally owned by the Vyner family of Eathorpe in Warwickshire. Mr Thomas Vyner (1653-1708), head of the family in the late 17th-18th century, included a passage in his will which stated that his library was not be sold, but pass to his descendants with the estate, demonstrating the value he placed on his book collection. This volume has a label on the cover “Miss Glover”. Laura Glover married Robert Vyner, Thomas Vyner’s grandson, in 1799. A portion of the family library eventually passed to Robert Thomas Vyner (1858-1930), who came to Australia in about 1890 and settled at "Eathorpe" in the Armidale district of N.S.W., and subsequently to his descendent, Peter Vyner, from whom the Library acquired this volume.
