When Su Dalgleish died suddenly in June 2008 she left behind a manuscript about her time living in the Central Australian aboriginal community of Utopia, based on her PhD research at the University of Cambridge. Through the dedicated efforts of her family and friends, we are excited and delighted to announce that Painted Voices, the completed manuscript has now been privately published in Australia and is now available in the UK. Barry Jones MP, an old friend of Su's from Australia launched the book at Melbourne's Lyceum Club in October 2011. He described the challenges Su had to overcome to live among the Utopian community, the fascinating story she documented during her two year stay along with Su's own journey, from early days in Australia to the "engrossing story" she documented in Painted Voices. We are delighted to see Painted Voices finally published and hope you enjoy reading Su's thoughts of her time in Utopia as much as we have enjoyed ensuring Su's work will live on in print.
