- Summary:
-
An artist's book of laser printed photographs which questions whether the seat of Australian democracy can be found in the suburbs of Canberra, many of which commemorate the name of an Australian Prime Minister. Although each Prime Minister led the Australian democracy differently, one wonders whether the people living in each of these Canberra suburbs truly understand and appreciate the name and its place in Australian political history. The cover incorporates a collage of a Canberra street directory. Reproductions of real estate maps appear on the end papers. The body of the text chronologically "name checks all Australian Prime Ministers in a text essentially typeset with the photographed alphabet of letters covered with pages from an old Canberra street directory."--Lessons in History, vol. II, Democracy, 2012, p. 35.
