-
A set of thirteen posters or panels about the life and work of Donald Friend during his time in Bali. They were produced by the National Library of Australia in 1995 for a travelling exhibition celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the Indonesian Declaration of Independence in 1945, for the then Labor government’s ‘Australia Today’ year of cultural promotion in Indonesia. The set was displayed in the Australian Embassy in Indonesia, and later in Bali. They feature illustrations and paintings by Donald Friend, excerpts from his writing, and reproduce pages from his diaries with accompanying text and photographs of Donald Friend in Bali. The set of posters comprises twelve numbered posters, and one title poster. The set of posters were designed to be a self contained and hard wearing exhibition - each poster is laminated with a matte finish, and has a metal eyelet in each corner for hanging.
