- Summary:
-
For reasons of logistics, Etaples was the site chose by the British army on which to build its biggest ever hospital and reinforcement camp... Our meeting with historians Julian Putkowski and Douglas Gill, during our researches in London in 1996, proved decisive in creating such a work. These two British historians have one particular thing in common: they are amongst the few people who, over the course of several years, have examined the key contents of the military archives relating to the Camp. They have each written a number of articles on the subject in various publication. They agreed to this abridged form of publication for the exhibition.
