- "Hans Andersen tells us in his Fairy tales how the Sandman comes in the evening and sends little children to sleep by throwing very fine sand into their eyes. He then tells them most delightful stories which they hear in their dreams. Sometimes he sings or plays to them on a very soft flute and the children dream of the songs and tunes. In this little book are a few of the Sandman's tunes that he plays when the children are asleep."--Title page.
