The North Shore Poetry Project holds regular events held in Willoughby in Sydney (New South Wales), where people interested in poetry meet to write, read, and discuss poetry. The Project was started in 2012 by Philip Porter, after a period as a poet-in-residence at a local cafe under the aegis of Australian Poetry, the peak body for Australian poets. The events are held several times a year and feature tapas food, major Australian poets, established local poets, and and 'open mic' secton where new poets perform their work. Past guests have included Judith Beverage, Stephen Edgar, Peter Doyle, Mark O'Flynn, Mark Tredinnick, Joanne Burns, John Carey, Luke Fisher, Carol Jenkins, Jakob Ziguras, Peter Bakowski, John Upton, Tricia Dearborn and David Malouf.
