"North Stradbroke Island is 30 km southeast of Brisbane, Queensland. Access is by ferry from Cleveland across Moreton Bay. Straddie, as it is affectionately known, is the second largest sand island in the world. The island is about 38 km long and 11 km wide. It has a permanent population of approximately 2500 with three main townships of Dunwich, Amity Point and Point Lookout. The island's unique, timeless beauty is appreciated by all who live there and visit the island."
