The collection contains correspondence, diaries, draft manuscripts, pamphlets, and political literature from Australia, the Middle East and French Pacific Territories. Much of this material relates to Leslie's various interests and activities including his involvement with the Australian Teachers Federation, Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA and civil rights campaigns.
- Biography/History:

Bill Leslie was born in Mudgee, 1934. He was a unionist, educator and civil libertarian. Leslie won a scholarship to Sydney Teachers College in 1953. He later completed an honours degree in sociology from Warwick University. He was the Assistant Secretary of the Australian Teachers Federation and worked for Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA, 1970-1980s. Leslie campaigned for social justice through his engagement with the Indigenous, peace, gay rights and union movements and died in Thailand in 2012.
