Eight linocuts by Ange McNeilly. Poems by Aboriginal activist Glen Hennessy, who died aged 35 while this book was in preparation in 1994 when Werner Enke was visiting lecturer at the Canberra School of Art. The linocuts were printed in Canberra in August 1994 but the printing of the bilingual text was taken up again several years later by Enke between 1997 and 2001, and issued by his private press. The sheets were originally printed on Speckletone Oatmeal and later moulded into sheets of handmade rag paper by Gangolf Ulbricht at the Bethanien workshops in Berlin. The cover paper was created by Werner Streitz. The type is handset in 14 point Mauritius (English text) and 8 point Futura (German translation), and the book was bound by Andreas Opperer, Rosenheim.

- Biography/History:
-
Glen Hennessy was a Koori born in Bourke, New South Wales, in 1958. He studied sociology at the University of New South Wales, and was also interested in literature and linguistics. According to his father, Cyril, "He was totally obsessed by learning." He worked on various Aboriginal initiatives in Sydney and the Central Coast, but was also affected by drugs, alcohol, and meningitis. He died young, aged only 35. The title refers to Glen himself, a dazzling type, a rare bird like the black cockatoo.
