Dan Potra studied film, television and theatre design for five years at the Art Institute Nicolae Grigorescu, Bucharest, graduating in 1987. He then moved to Australia and studied at NIDA, graduating in 1991. He was the designer of the Deep Sea Dreaming and Tin Symphony segments in the opening ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Further programs featuring Dan Potra are located under separate PROMPT files for companies he has worked for, including Opera Australia, West Australian Opera, the Adelaide Festival, West Australian Opera, Melbourne Theatre Company, the 1994 Festival of Sydney, the Festival of Perth, Belvoir Street, Chamber Made Opera, Victoria State Opera, the Melbourne Festival, Festival of the Dreaming, and the Sydney Theatre Company.
