-
'The Sydney rave party phenomenon began in c.1983 with RAT (Recreational Arts Team Pty.Ltd. in 1987) Parties, “underground” music and entertainment events organised by word-of-mouth and held in venues like disused industrial sites. (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rat_Parties). By the late 1980’s the venues became more “mainstream”, the venues more public, and the range of promoters grew. This poster is for an early publically promoted Hordern Pavilion Rave Party. The poster design was also used in A4 handbills for the same event.'--acquisitions documentation.
