Mr Douglas, one of Australia's most distinguished journalists, was the Commonwealth Government publicity officer from 1934-1938 and was private secetary to Joseph Lyons from 1936-1938. He was also on the editorial staff of several Sydney newspapers and a member of the Australian Associated Press in London.
