- Text continues: This mosquito breeds in and around houses, therefore control measures are simple. It breeds in: rainwater tanks, discarded rubber tyres, old tins and bottles about the yard, sagging roof gutters, vases, jugs, fire buckets, flower pots and other water containers, including those inside the house. Therefore: (1) Screen all tanks or apply kerosene or fly spray to the water surface. (2) Destroy or bury all bottles, tins or other receptacles to prvent them serving as breeding places. (3) Empty all fire buckets, vases, and small water containers at least every seven (7) days.
