Files relate to the General Secretariat; State Councils; Commission on Faith and Order; Division of Faith and Witness; Division of Mission; Commission on Christian Education; Commission on Church and Society; Commission on Overseas Mission; Commission on Aboriginal Development; Australian Episcopal Working Group; Division of Inter-Church Aid, Refugees and World Service; Commission on World Christian Action; Australian Christian Youth Council; East Asia Christian Conference, 1949-73; Nuclear Energy Conference, 1976; China Delegation, 1984; Conference on World Mission and Evangelism, 1980; Conference on Human Rights and Disarmament, 1983. Also included are minutes of the Mission Studies Council, 1911-18; NSW Council for Mission Education, 1916-31; United Mission Council, 1920-51; and records of the National Missionary Council of Australia, 1928-65 (160 boxes).
The Acc96.075 instalment comprises papers of D'Arcy Wood, past President, former Vice-President and Council member of the Australian Council of Churches (2 boxes).
The Acc15.082 instalment comprises minutes of the Australian Council of Churches' Commission on International Affairs (CCIA),1986-93. The minutes record how the commission responded to various international events during the period (1 folder).
- Biography/History:

The Australian Committee for the World Council of Churches was founded in 1946 as an expression of the ecumenical movement in Australia. Its aims and activities include promotion of Christian unity, evangelism and service to the community, education, missions and overseas aid, race relations, Aboriginal welfare and youth affairs. In 1960 its name was changed to Australian Council of Churches (ACC). In 1994 the National Council of Churches in Australia (NCCA) succeeded the ACC.
