"Australian archives devoted to ballet. Edward Pask, archivist to The Australian Ballet, has as store of memories of great moments of ballet in Australia and overseas at his finger-tips. He has amassed more than 55.000 items for a collection which includes photographs, programs, letters, costumes, set designs and even the ballet shoes of famous dancers. Mr Pask, who lectures in the history of ballet to students of The Australian Ballet School, collected manu o the items himself, even from backstage after premiere performances. Others have been gifts from dancers, such as Australia's Sir Robert Helpmann, or ballet lovers within Australia and other countries.
