- Summary:
-
Promotional poster for an event at the Balmain Town Hall, showing an appropriation of the promotional material for the musical 'Les Miserable' and thus set during the French Revolution. Shown is an image of a woman clothed in blue overalls holding a rifle and raised red flag bearing the caption, 'Come as your favourite faction'. At her side is a young boy holding a pistol in each hand, one pointing to the sky and another aimed at the head of the figure of Malcolm Fraser. The figure of Fraser is drawn in the lower foreground stretched out, as though collasped on the ground. On the boy's t-shirt is the mark of the printer. At the foot of the poster is the text, "Sheila, Wasted Daze, Stiletto, proceeds to Right to Work Campaign & Vietnam Reconstruction". According to the Powerhouse Museum, the poster was designed by Chips Mackinolty.
