R.M.S. Aquitania, built in Glasgow in 1913, was the longest serving Cunard liner built in the 20th century. In 1940 the Aquitania was based in Sydney transporting Australian and New Zealand troops during World War II. The Aquitania was withdrawn from service in 1949 and scrapped in 1950.
