This book shows one chapter in the story of the Groote Eylandt Archaeology, Rock Art and Repatriation Project. In the 1990s Annie Clarke and the families she worked with on Groote Eylandt collected materials from Old People's camping places. These materials were dug from the ground, labeled by the place on country that they came from and then safely stored in boxes at Annie's workplace. These archaeological samples had to be sorted out to understand what kinds of shell, fishbone, ochre and other things the Old People gathered and used. In 2018 these materials were brought back to Groote Eylandt and many boxes of material were sorted in the community by Shirley, Gloria, Amy and Faith Yantarrnga and Annie. Ursula Frederick made photographs and blue prints to tell the story of this work in pictures.
