This collection relates to Tsebin Tchen's campaign for election as a Victorian Member of Parliament, his involvement with various Chinese community organisations, and his participation in Chinese Australian Federation Conferences, 1986-1990. It includes personal diaries, newspaper cuttings, printed material and colour photographs of various parliamentarians.
- Biography/History:

Tsebin Tchen who was a Chinese-Australian Liberal member of the Australian Senate from 1999 to 2005, as a Senator of Victoria. Tchen was the first Asian migrant elected to the Federal Parliament of Australia, and the second Chinese-Australian following Bill O'Chee.
