- Atlit is a submerged village on the coast of Israel. Caption from slip. "Here was a haven & port built by the Crusaders about 1150 & known as Castrum Peregrinorum or the Castle of the Pilgrims. Large quantities of stone from these magnificent ruins were carried off to build the defenses of Acre".
